Bear and Lion Hunts
Baits and Hounds
We are guiding Bear and Lion hunts on the 1.6 million acre White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation. Our Bear season runs April through August with us having our own guiding area for the spring Bear. We will also be hunting Bear in October. We can have up to ten bait sites placed at a time covering miles of great Bear country, this ensures active baits at all times. We also use Hounds to tree the Bears and this helps to get those big Bears that like to hit the baits at night only. This combination makes for a great way to hunt these Bears. Our Lion hunts will start November 1st and run through April 15th. These are hound hunts. We use mules to ride the canyons and ridges, also trucks are used to cover the country looking for Lion tracks.

ARIZONA BEAR HUNTING
The White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation has excellent hunting for most all of Arizonas big game species and the bear hunting is no exception. There is true potential of harvesting a world class animal. Bears come in many color phases: Black, Chocolate, Cinnamon and Blonde. We hunt these bears April through August and again in October.
ARIZONA ELK HUNTING
Arizona Elk hunting is a spectacular event. Although it is extremely difficult to draw a tag, you can be sure the wait is well worth it, for you will be in for a truly unforgettable hunting experience.
ARIZONA MOUNTAIN LION HUNTING
The mountain lion is a magnificent trophy but an extremely elusive one, requiring the aid of well trained hounds. We specialize in hunting lions on dry ground without any need for snow. Depending on the area we hunt can determin how we hunt. We use 4x4 vehicals to cover country looking for tracks, also good ol foot work is always something that can be expected and we have an excellent string of riding and packing mules that we use to travel the canyons, bluffs and ridges while looking for lion tracks.
ARIZONA COUES DEER HUNTING
The coues deer has become an extremely desired trophy animal. Arizona has great habitat for these deer and as a result very high numbers of them. We hunt these deer in the months of October, November and December.
REFERRAL PROGRAM: This is a way of thanking our hunters that return year after year and that send us so many hunters by word of mouth. For every three booked hunters we receive for a specific animal that acknowledges your name in writing on the booking form and that completes a full priced hunt, you will receive a 50% discount on that same hunt. For a person to receive the referral discount he/she must have previously completed at least one or more regular priced hunts with Nichols Guiding Service.
Example: Three hunters book hunts at regular listed price for the same animal type hunt and all three put your name down on the referred by line, you could save $1500 to $2000 on the same hunt . This disount only applies to the price of the hunt listed on Nichols Guiding Service price list, all other standard fees still apply such as travel, tag and license and so on. Ask for details.
